Ambengan village, one of the villages in the sub district of Sukasada, in the south of Buleleng. Since 2005 this village has been promoted by the village tourist organization as an ecotourism village. In view of this trickles of visitors have discovered and now enjoy its panoramas. However due to the lack of promotions and infrastructures, only a few people have had the opportunity to see the beauty of this region.
Ambengan village covers a large expanse of farming land which is in a hilly area. There are spectacular rice-terraces, waterfall and many more sites that are of interest. If you make a visit in the afternoon, you will also see the sunset. The waterfall itself is still worth a visit. You need to take two minutes scenic walk and here there are no art shops. No one will disturb your trip. It is still a natural environment.
There is no fixed entrance fee but you are encouraged to give a donation. The money that is collected from donations is used to maintain and improve the facilities of the attraction.
This village has the potential for ecotourism tours, trekking and meditation because the area is so tranquil and uplifting for the soul. This village has many natural ponds close by the river with an abundance of clean water. There is a strict rule that is enforced. No waste and no cleaning of motorbikes in the river. You can see the sign every 20 meters, " Dilarang membuang sampah dan mencuci sepeda motor di sungai".
Most of villagers are farmers. They still cultivate their land in traditional ways using a plow with cows. They plant rice, cocoa, cloves and some tropical fruits like rambutan and durian. The local guides are more than willing to show you around.
